Your point about taking responsibility for bad career decisions is very true. I think that part of the problem is how people go about finding work.

Someone who feels strongly enough to say things like "I was misled!" or "The job was misrepresented to me" is usually the same person who is motivated by thos "I hate my job ads" that tradtional job boards like Careerbuilder run, and the even some of the newer ones like Jobster have been known to run.

A big part of the problem isn't just the employee though. If you put the wrong person into the wrong situation then you will inherently have problems.
